Our construction team has over twenty years experience. The design team has over thirty-five years of
experience in their respective trades. This means superior design work, construction practices and results.
From the services we provide, the materials we choose, to the construction practices we perform; excellence

OUR INFLUENCES

Our team has extensive experience in designing and building in northern hemisphere climates. I learned to build in Alaska back in the '80's from contractors who were involved in the building process from start to finish. We had to build for common severe weather including heavy wet snow, high winds, dense fog, and coastal storms. Our architect is an expert in sustainable design with experience in over eleven countries around the world. Sustainable design and building practices have been around for a long time in Alaska, Canada and the Nordic countries. Materials and technology may have changed, but the principles for quality control are still the same.
WHY QUALITY MATTERS-
I see a lot of evidence that the building industry has lost something important over the last twenty
years. To me, it has become a paper contractor world with most of the building stages being
subbed out to the lowest bidder. That's not a good formula for quality control.
Over 70% of the work we do has evidence of poor workmanship and water damage issues. I'm
talking about homes that are less than twenty years old. For many people, this is the most
expensive purchase in their lifetime and major repairs can have a real impact on their budgets.

Most consumers come to us with an idea, but they have no idea what it will cost to build, the
process it will take or whom to trust to help them. We can help; before a hammer falls, you will
know the process, the schedule and the costs. We are thorough in the design and estimating
phase of a project. We know our customers are working within a budget and it is our goal to
design and build the project to fit those parameters.
Almost always, there are unforeseen issues and owner add-ons in remodeling and landscaping
projects. Because of this, the initial estimate and project plan needs to be as accurate as possible
to minimize the impact of those issues or changes.
Low bids are notorious for "omission estimating". Items are left out of the estimate to be the low bid and get the project. This practice typically leads to add-ons and change orders to the project. What happens in these situations is costs can soar and the completion date will get extended out. What started as a dream, can turn into a nightmare. We manage your project from conception to completion. We have relationships with people such as
designers, architects, green consultants and suppliers. A remodel, custom home or landscape project
involves many trades people and we understand that it all reflects back on us as the primary contractor.
We also bring the all the key people in early on the planning and budgeting phase of the project. This
ensures a smooth process though the construction phase and delivers quality results. Our goal is to bring
